Trip to the Field Museum of Natural History
Dec. 9, 2014
On November 11 we visited the Day of the Dead exhibit at the National Museum of Mexican Art. (Does anyone have any photos?)
During Hispanic Heritage Month, Luna's mom shared her tango rhythms with us. She is from Argentina and learned to love tango music from visiting her grandparents.
In January 2014 the third graders went to the Art Institute of Chicago.
We toured the exhibits and had an art lesson, too!

Welcome
to the
Pawnee Earth Lodge
in the Field Museum
of Natural History!
Can you identify
the various
Pawnee objects?
This is the sacred area of the lodge. It has a water drum which can change tones depending on how much water is put in it.
Field Trip to the Adler Planetarium -- May 2013
Doing the lunar leap! Robert and Bryan are flying!
Third graders love to discover all the objects in space and what it means to be an astronaut and scientist. At the Adler Planetarium on April 26,
we looked through telescopes,
made inquiries and hypotheses for experiments, interacted with computer models of planets and moons, drove model rovers, and much more!
We'd love to return! (Look for family passes for FREE at your local Chicago library.)
